Fried Pork Chops

This is my favorite dish to go with the sauted baguio beans. One thing you’ll notice is that the pork chops here in the U.S. have very little fat and the skin of them they automatically remove at the butcher shop when they process the meat.

In the Philippines they are sold as is with the fat and skin and even though it’s not as good for you, I still like the way it’s done in the Philippines. I sort of miss it actually. Again this is quick and easy to make. You can enjoy your Fried Pork Chops in no time. Now the recipe!

Please clarify the soy sauce measurement as it is written incorrectly.I Love your website! My husband is Filipino and I am American. I love to cook him and his brother authentic Filipino foods but it has been difficult to find recipes so I have been pretty limited. Thanks so much for sharing these classic recipes!

  7. Lauren,

Thanks for pointing that out. I switch web host and when they transfer my site some characters got messed up. I thought I had all of them fix, but I guess not.

The soy sauce measurement is 3/4 cup. I am glad that you’re trying to satisfy your husband taste bud let me know how he likes it. I am also married to an American girl she also likes Filipino food, well some of them. lol

    Hello Robert,

I’ve been noticing you use/recommend MSG for a lot of your recipes. What is MSG? Is this the MSG we hear about that is so bad for you? Or is this something else. If it’s the “bad” stuff, is there something else you can recommend in place of MSG? Your recipes look so appetizing! Thanks for taking the time to share them! πŸ™‚ I’m an American married to a Filipino and I love most Filipino foods. Looking forward to trying some of your recipes! πŸ™‚

Actually Robert feel free to delete the above post. No need to reply as I did some reading on MSG…no substitute available and MSG is not really needed in food. So I’ll just take the old saying and apply it here “when in doubt, leave it out.” πŸ™‚

Best fried pork ever…….I cut the pork chops so they are thinner…and half the marinade time….awesome. Silver Swan soy is the only way to go for cooking.

  14. Jade says:

Look’s yummy!. thanks for sharing delicious recipe.
now i know how to cook this.

  15. Kaye says:

    Can i marinate it overnight?

  16. The ingredients for this recipe is pretty strong, so with that being said I would not recommend to marinate it over night because it will get too salty. If you must marinate overnight I would suggest to cut the amount of ingredients in half.

Only five minutes per side; very high heat?

  19. Hi bigedlancer,

Pork do cook pretty easy, so with that being said you can over cook it pretty easy also. I find it sufficient enough time to cook pork chops in ten minutes (5 on each side). However, you can cook it longer if that’s how you want yours done, I know back in the Philippines that how usually my mother prefers to cook hers.

On the side note: Cooking in high temperature will not cook your meat quicker, instead it will burn it long before it gets cook all the way through.

    Cheers,
    Robert Colinares

A dash of msg is sufficient!!! Add 5 tablespoons of lime juice.
