Hi Robert!

Just like them, I accidentally found your website while searching for possible family trees. My father, Melvin, is from Basey, Samar. I’m in Liloan, Cebu but based in Batangas on weekdays.

Anyways, I’m glad I’ve found this site. I cook for my family as well but not that great. I can only cook a few recipes and inconsistenly good. Thus, I can make use of this site. In fact, I’ll prepare Chicken afritada for my lunch today since most of the recipes are in. Will just substitute beef franks with ordinary hotdog.

for the Chicken afritada,can i replace the chicken breast for chicken wings instead? If so, how many chicken wings can I use? by the way I love the “pinoy pork bbq” i made it and I can honnesly say that it is one of my favorites =) it was so DELICIOUS. Thank u for the recipe.

I remember when I was a kid seeing the hotdog and wondering why my Tita put hotdog in the chicken afritada .

I am a filipino wife by marraige..almost thirty years ! I cook filipino style just about every day. We have adapted so many american recipies to filipino….Afritada is one of our favorites……We use chicken….and potatoes ….but use vienna sausage and add a splash of paprika to give it a little kick. Thank you fro such a wonderful site!
